FLOQSwabs®

FLOQSwabs® are advanced specimen collection swabs manufactured by Copan, designed to provide efficient specimen collection and superior release of biological material for microbiological and molecular testing.

Developed using Copan’s patented FLOQ® technology, FLOQSwabs® feature a flocked tip with perpendicular short Nylon® fibres applied to a moulded plastic shaft. This design provides rapid, capillarity-driven specimen uptake and superior elution of the collected specimen. Unlike conventional wound or spun-fibre swabs, the flocked design helps improve specimen recovery and provides a more homogeneous release of collected material into transport media, supporting efficient downstream diagnostic testing.

FLOQSwabs® are suitable for microbiological culture, molecular-based testing and other downstream laboratory applications. Depending on configuration, they can support collection from a wide range of anatomical sites, including nasal, throat, vaginal, rectal, wound, buccal and faecal samples.
